Almost Home
It seems like forever ago that i was boarding a plane at Sea-Tac going towards the unknown Europe. At the time I thought i would be able to update my blog in Europe as long as we had Wi-fi and allowing that Breezie would let me use her computer. Sadly, Breezie’s computer had a little hiccup, stopped charging and with tracking down of various Mac people in London, found that her batter just stopped working.
Sad for her
In general, my experience was awesome. From London, Paris, Dublin and Edinburgh, there’s been so much that I’ve seen and gotten to experience. And there was also the crazy parts. It comes from me and Breezie having this aversion to planning things ahead of time…We had our ticket coming to London and back and ONE night at a hotel in London. Literally that’s all we had. We’ve ridden planes, trains, taxis, double-decker buses, underground metro, ferries from the UK to Ireland and we even drove around a few days in Ireland. The only mode of transportation that we didn’t use was a horse-drawn carriage!
Since I’m currently on a computer in a small hotel in Iceland…I can’t even remember the name of the city, I can’t get my pictures up just yet, beyond the fact that a couple of days worth are stuck on Breezie’s computer. And after it stopped working I had to pick my pictures wisely. Haha. I’m excited to be coming home
It’s wonderful to travel but then you run out of money and have to go make more to support future adventures!
When I get more time I’ll make up some posts about the countries I visited. There’s way too much that happened in each to make it all one post…and hopefully I don’t hit my head and forget it all from now til then…

Planes and trains
Two planes and two complicated trains later…
Long flight but cool part was that every person had a tv monitor in front of them with access to free movies, tv shows and music. Awkward was a stewardess parking her cart beside me and sitting on me four times. Psht, no sleep whatsoever the whole flight but we arrived initially in Iceland to watch the sunrise over the vast horizon.
We had our hotel booked but no way to get there. Started off with an express train and then hopped around two other random trains/tubes. With 14 hours of flying time and no sleep, we were a LITTLE delirious and kept forgetting directions people would give us.
Even with all the special-ness, we found our hotel. And since then have grabbed food and wandered the streets in the waning light of day. Dinner was a baguette, laughing cow cheese (a little piece of home) and ham. I also gave in and stopped in a bakery to grab a Belgium chocolate muffin. That plus the Starbucks we found during our street wandering made the night a delicious one

Tsunami Warning Unheeded
Me and Breezie are sitting at the airport-waiting for our first flight to load. Of course I was packing right before leaving the house-and I think I have everything… passport-check. Coffee-check. Everything else-…sure
So far we only have a place to stay the first night (due to procrastination by me and Breezie) but I’m sure we’ll figure something out when we get there, haha. I’m truly hoping I don’t have to sit by a screaming baby/kid on the plane…oy, seven hours is too long…
Truthfully I’m equal parts nervous and excited but ready or not here we go!

Tsunami Warning Unheeded
Our adventure today…
We ended up renting a car for our trip. My car has shaking problems plus lack of fourth workable seatbelt, breezie has a truck for now, and Janelle…something about her tires. So we decided that that best option was to jack up the miles on someone else’s car…Between choosing the economy or fast car, we decided to go with economy which landed us with a 2010 Toyota Corolla, which I thought was hilarious.
There was a little juggling but Hannah met up with me and Breezie in Lynnwood and we picked up Janelle in Renton and made our uber long drive. Some of the things we hit up was the Marine Museum, a few stores, and the lighthouse. Evidently it’s the tallest light house in Washington. Breezie and Janelle made the climb while me and Hannah decided to wander around the grounds.
The funniest/craziest part was about a tsunami warning that was issued for the west coast. We still ended up on the beach looking for sand dollars and other rocks/shells. I don’t think we were really thinking about the threat while we were on the beach, but in retrospect…we prolly should have avoided the beach. But we survived and had fun. I only have one picture cause my camera cord is missing. SO hoping it shows back up cause I have some amazing photos. Another day!

Road Trip With Papa
Tonight I went up to Camano island with my dad to hear my brother preach at this youth group. He and his friend Jevon have been in bible college together this past half year and so it’s so cool to see them be able to take what they’ve learned and pass it on to junior high and high school kids. I know I’m prolly biased, but Brandon’s pretty darn funny. Heck, if I wasn’t saved I’d feel the conviction right there. My little big brother’s growing up, and I’m so proud of him

My Heart’s Desire
I’m currently searching for a new car…and by new car, I mean newer old car. I’ve been so happy with my Toyota Corolla, so even with the Toyota recalls, I’ve still been searching within Toyotas. I’d be ok with another Corolla and have found a few possibilities in my price range, but what I would be THRILLED with, is a Rav4. So if my current searches don’t pan out, I’m going to try to wait longer and save more for the car I would actually drool over. (Since I’m not a normal car lover like Keri and Breezie) Who knows how long my beat up and abused current car will last, but I guess the longer the better!

The Sound of Settling
So much happening in the past couple of months. Moving out, having more room to leave my stuff out…new people to adjust with. I have to say I’m lovin’ it so far. Granted we have had a few issues of our own, but have settle most and hopefully we’re all in our happy place with each other. My favorite times is when we’re all randomly together, sometimes in my room or around the kitchen table and we just chill. We were friends before moving in and thankfully have been able to stay so. Sucky lament though is that I’ve seemed to misplaced my battery charger for my camera. It’s died and now I have no way at home to charge it. I’ve looked for a replacement one at walmart, but they only had batteries and even those were like thirty bucks.
My room is as usual rather messy but the funny thing is, one of our balancing qualities is that Keri is a compulsive cleaner and I quite often come home to find the house completely cleaned, including the kitchen. One of my contributions is that since I love to cook, I do so quite often and usually with enough to share. One recent delight is a triple chocolate cake that we have agreed that…lol, well I can’t really say, but I will say, it was amazing…’cajun style!

Yay Good Samaritans
So I had a shift today in Lake City and figured with all the sand on the road that I’d at least be able to make it to the freeway. But ended up in a drift on the side of the road instead. There were three guys that came at different times, one tried to push the other tried to find a way to hook up a rope under my car, but no such luck. And evidentally I have towing services through All State, but when I tried to call my insurance company they said they were having technical difficulties and weren’t able to contact any towing services. So after sitting on the side of the road for 20 minutes, another guy came by and offered to help dig me out. He tried pushing too, but my car is of course difficult. Thankfully two other guys came to help too and they managed to lift the front of my car and I reversed out. And after a shakey drive home, I’m safe and sound back inside away from the snow.
