Motherhood, Is It In You?

Filed under: Think outside of the box, Twisted — croakingcricket @ 5:20 pm

I just finished a grueling day, starting with a shift for work beginning at 9pm ending with a babysitting job that I finished around 4:30pm.  I’d say work was the same ol’ same ol’, just chilling most of the night on the couch listening if my client needed me.  The fun part was that the Olympics helped keep me awake; water polo, volleyball, polo, diving, track.  I’d have to say that my two favorites to watch were the diving and water polo competitions, even though I haven’t seen the final matches between the two.

But the new twist to this day was that I agreed to babysit for a lady from church after I got off of work…minus sleep.  So I showed up around 8:15am and didn’t get relieve till after 4:30.  But even with no sleep, my lovely period keeping me company and two more kids than I thought I’d be in charge of, it was an OK day.  And it just felt like I could be ready for motherhood, not saying I’m going out to have kids in the next couple of seconds but I was groovin’ it with strange kids and not at the top of my game.

We also went to a park where I wanted to roll down a really big hill, but didn’t because I was too tired to climb back up the hill. Though did get my fill of swings and jungle gyms :)

Fourth of July

Filed under: Love affair with Life, Think outside of the box, ~CLICK~ — croakingcricket @ 10:17 pm

Some times planning just doesn’t work.  Marie text me like Monday wanting to do something crazy on the fourth, even with me working.  Hannah and Keri got in on the game, but our plans still fell apart, especially since everywhere we wanted to go would’ve been crowded and hell for parking.  Marie and Keri both made it to our rendez-vous point, my house, but Hannah was a no show.  Especially since she locked her keys in her car at Olive Garden.  (Like I don’t know how that feels, lol).  But the rest of us piled in Keri’s cute VW bug to rescue Hannah.  The bug that I have some interesting plans for, however, I’ll keep those sealed for now.  We stopped off at Jack n’ the Box and Starbucks and ended up at the Marina.  Hannah was hilarious, she kept stalking around, ready to go home or go do something else.  But me, Marie and Keri were just happy to chill on the beach.

Gotta Laugh About Something

Filed under: Random Ramblings, Think outside of the box — croakingcricket @ 1:22 pm

After a semi-stressful day at school, accompanied with a few hours of studying, I needed to find something to just laugh about.  My and my friend Erin decided that we didn’t offend very easily, and yet I’m offended at some of the people in my class, my teacher included.  I came home and cooked a bit for the cabin and have plans for making cookies.  And will look forward to a weekend away, I just hope that that sun decides to come out at least some of the time.

Experimenting

Filed under: Think outside of the box — croakingcricket @ 11:15 pm

I had a fun time experimenting with dinner tonight. At my client’s house…or more to the point, the third client of the day. When I got there it was a crazy flurry of everyone frustrated with another person. My job then was to not agravate everyone more. And for dinner I was told to surprise them. So I started with a recipe for beef mac and cheese and ended up with a little mix of random thing. It was really good though and everyone seemed to like it. There was even seconds. Oh yeah, and I made deviled eggs too! Fun times just cooking, it’s kind of relaxing. :)

Just Because

This isn’t a video that I’ve listened to a million and one times and an just in love with, but I just wanted to find something new that I hadn’t seen before.  I’ve tagged the artist on my Pandora radio, their group kinda reminded me of Fall Out Boy…so yeah.  Plus, I think the slipping on a banana peel part is hilarious.  More people should do that outside of cartoons! :D

A Poke, a Trip and a Hug

Filed under: Giggles Galore, Think outside of the box — croakingcricket @ 10:04 pm

The title really came from nowhere.  Sometimes when I do titles of my blogs I either put whatever randomly pops in my head or what I can hear at the time, like a quote from a movie or TV show.  I know I’ve been a slacker lately and not written anything.  Not exactly cause nothing has been happening, but more like because I was lazy and being a writing retard.

But now I think I’ll write of the most memorable examples of my title.

A poke:  Last Wednesday I was at church and I happened to see Keri.  So what do I do when I see Keri?  I kick her butt.  Not figuratively but literally.  However, whenever I do something challenging like that, it tends to start a mini war for the rest of the night.  During worship she pushed me into this mass of jr. high boys slamming into each other.  And my response was to turn around and poke her arm.  Though since the poke ended up with two fingers stabbing her…it kinda turned into a pinch.  Unfortunately, my pinch was a little intense and my fingers kinda dug into her arm, breaking two of my nails.  Lol, and I got a text from her later in the week saying that her mom saw the mark on her arm and asked who bit her.  My response was to tell her to just get a rabies shot just to be sure.

My birthday present for Breezie two years ago was to trip her into cement.  She actually started the fued this time.  One our way somewhere she decided it would be funny to trip me on wet grass.  Oh and it happened to be her birthday this time too.  So most of the morning I was trying to trip her, but she was pretty good about keeping her balance.  Then after lunch time, our mission was to find Kaylee.  And we ended up on a strip of cement.  And out of nowhere came this urge to trip Breezie.  But instead of just side-tripping her or sticking my foot out in front of her, I put my foot behind both hers and pushed her backwards. Breezie made a slight splatting noise, but the funniest thing is that all the people around us were so shocked because they only saw me picking on her.  They didn’t see the EVIL SIDE!!! *Ahem* Yes, I won that time.

The hugging memory…mostly I like hugs.  Some people are a little less hugable than others, but I’m ok with that.  What comes to mind when I think of hugging is a video that was shown in my church when our title messages were “when grace hugs you”.  So people were demonstrating hugs, and I saw this clip that made me laugh my self silly when I saw step number three.  Especially since Breezie was sitting next to me and she was twitching….

To Zorb Or Not To Zorb; That Is the Question

Filed under: *Gasp*, Love affair with Life, Sa-WEET, Think outside of the box — croakingcricket @ 12:27 am

I’ve seen the commercial like fifty times while watching the show New Amsterdam on fox.com. Not only is the song catchy, but the idea of zorbing is crazy amazing. In my words, you get in a big ball and roll down a hill. But since SOME people don’t have an imagination, I’ll borrow from Wikipedia.

“Often the sphere is a double hulled sphere, with one ball inside the other with an air layer in between. This acts as a shock absorber for the rider, evening out bumps while traveling. It also allows for a much more light-weight sphere made of flexible plastic, as opposed to the rigid plastic of a hamster ball. “

Here’s the clip. I’m sad though that the song, Superman by R.E.M., was made as a cover for this song and isn’t sold. So I can only hum to my self and look forward to another adventure one day.
